Zipper Face Tutorial

I have had several of you that have emailed me wanting a tutorial on this. Here you are...

My seven year old grand daughter volunteered to be my model for this. She is looking a little nervous I think.

You will need rubber latex. I just googled it and then ordered it online.
*Important-test this on a small area of your skin to make sure you are not allergic.
 AMACO Rubber Latex 16 oz

You will also need an ordinary zipper. Any size just make sure it is not to long.

Next apply the latex with a Q-tip where you want the zipper to be.

When you have it where you want it, let it get tacky for a minute or two.

Press the zipper on the latex all the way down. You may have to hold it in place for a few minutes

Apply more latex on the outside of the zipper. Try to spread as smooth as possible.

Let it dry. While it is drying try to smooth and press out large bumps.

We went outside to see if it would dry a little quicker in the sun.

Ha ha she is such a good sport!

Next I took liquid cover up and started loading it on.

Poor thing  was worried about opening her eyes all the way. It feels pretty weird to have a zipper and latex between your eyes.

After putting on lot's of cover up I applied lot's of face powder.

Then some more cover up and more powder.

Next I took some fake blood that you can get at Walmart or the dollar store and put it on the inside of the zipper. I finished off with one more layer of powder and cleaned off her eyebrows.

 And here she is!

After she looked at herself in the mirror for awhile and having some pictures taken she wanted it off.

Simply pull it off and wash your face with some soap and water.

If you have any questions let me know!

  2. So, so, so cool! I swear it's the scariest Hallowe'en mask I've ever seen, and now that I know how easy it is, I will be hunting for that Latex stuff. It'll scare the heck out of the kids!
And I'm thinking I want to use it for work, too. We'll be holding a little Hallowe'en tournament for our customers, and I could totally get away with this for that one day. Too good to miss.
Thanks so much for the tutorial, I am really grateful you ruthlessly violated the innocent soul of that beautiful little princess for the greater good!
