Taco (soup) Tuesday in a Slow Cooker

This week I saw at least three people share their
Taco Soup recipes. So of course I had to make some and
share my favorite recipe with you!

Whats amazing about this is, everyone loves it,
it is so easy to make and of course delicious!

*Note - I doubled the recipe and put it in an extra large crock pot,
as you will notice in my pictures.

Ingredients

1 lb extra lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped (I use chopped frozen onions)
1 (16 oz) can chili beans, with liquid

Chicken & Waffles Lay's Chips

I know Chicken and Waffle Lay's Chips are not "NEW" but they are to me. After hearing many opinions on these chips, I have wanted to try them myself.
Only problem, I have searched everywhere and couldn't find them. Well I finally found a bag while on a road trip and gave them a try.

What did I think?

They were by no means yucky but definitely not yummy either. I myself would never buy them again. If I am going to eat something fattening, it's gonna be some other flavor of Lay's chips that I really love! If you have tried these, I can't wait to hear what you thought about them!

Kick Up Your Favorite Summer Dinners

I'd like to welcome Meredith K. and thank her for doing this guest post by on behalf of Ro*Tel.

There are certain meals that just scream, “summer”—the ones you crave when the sun is shining and you can eat outside. While these dishes are popular for a reason, eating the same meals over and over again all summer long can get boring. Make your meals more exciting this season with these easy ways to kick up your favorite summer dinners:

Pirate Cove Pizza Experience

Arrr Mateys!

Here is a post for all of me Landlubbers, and Sea Dogs!

If you are ever in or passing through St George, UT the Pirate Cove Pizza is a great place to stop for food and to have a great time.

I think I may have been a little too excited to be there, because of the amazing atmosphere. Made me feel like I was eating at a restaurant in Disneyland, and who wouldn't be happy about that.

Christmas Tree Cookies

I just wanted to share one of my families traditions.
Every year when I was growing up my mother made these green Almond Butter Christmas Tree Cookies
I have done the same with my kids and now my grand kids.

Almond Butter Cookies

1 cup butter room temperature
1/2 cup  granulated white sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons pure almond extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350
Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla and almond and mix.  On low speed, gradually add the flour and salt until well mixed. Add food coloring.
I use a cookie press for these cookies.
Place cookie sheet on center rack and bake 7-9 minutes. When they slightly start to brown on the edges take them out.

This week I made an 18" life size Sparky cake from the Frankenweenie movie. It was red velvet with buttercream and covered in fondant.

Halloween Worm Entree

Day 21
*Important Note I made a major fail on these worms. Make sure you go to the bottom to see what it was, so I can save you from making the same mistake.

Chocolate Graveyard Bundt Cake

 Day 2

This is a great little dessert when you need something quick. It would also make a great little treat for a neighbor, teacher or party, you name it.
I first purchased both these items at the dollar store and then washed them with some dish soap since they would go on the cake.
Then I purchased this yummy Triple Chocolate Fudge bundt cake from Smiths for only $2.99 and it really is yummy and moist!

Colorful Carrots

I had to show all of you my colorful carrots. Red, yellow, white and orange. I picked them to soon so they are not as big as they should be, but I couldn't wait to share.
I think they are pretty and they taste just like the orange carrots.

Easy Pasta Salad

This is a very easy pasta salad. Very versatile, add or leave out ingredients to suit your taste. It is also a good one to make for a big crowd.
