Last Minute Fishing Costume

If you didn't like the zipper face you might want to pass on this post also.

I try to not put to much gore on here, but it's Halloween and I was quite pleased with my last minute costume that I put together for a party the other night. I wore my jeans, t-shirt, jacket and grabbed a fishing pole. I then made it look like I hooked myself with the fish hook.

Ha ha I tried go for a hurt look on my face. Didn't accomplish it.

I started with liquid latex. Please make sure you are not allergic! With a q-tip I painted a half circle under my eye. Let dry completely.

KSL Blogger

I was honored to have been invited to be on KSL but after seeing myself I had second thoughts. It was fun and I want to thank Scott Libby and KSL. Just a little fact about TV.

Monsters Inc. and Boo

If you like this costume I would appreciate if you would take a second and vote for it!

Thanks!

I planned on doing this for a tutorial. I started out by taking pictures with each step. Then the further I got into it, the more I began picking out sewing mistakes, cutting things out wrong, and feeling very overwhelmed. I just couldn't do a tutorial on something that I couldn't explain myself. LOL! I do not sew unless one of my kids plead for me to do so. After much trial and error, we ended up with a cute little Boo. (MY grand daughter Halee)

This costume won the Halloween Costume Contest hosted by The Grant Life

Pumpkin Cake

Here is my latest cake. The bottom layer was banana cake and the middle and the top were pumpkin spice with almond buttercream. I think this pumpkin spice is one of my new favorite flavors.

Skull Candlestick Holder

Day 15
Wow the month is half over and I have so much I want to share. A BIG THANKS to all of you for stopping by and for your sweet comments! Now on to my next project.

I hit the thrift and dollar store and found some great finds. I put them all together and this is what I got!

I got the gold candle stick holder at the thrift store for two dollars. The single candle holder and the skull I got at the dollar store. This can be done with any similar items.

Pumpkin Plant Holder

Day 19

Today I am sharing one of my daughters projects. Enjoy!

I was walking down the aisle at Walmart and saw a bunch of those trick-or-treat pumpkin buckets. Shades of blue really attract me so of course I picked out the brightest blue pumpkin there, for no reason. I also stopped by the scrapbook area of Walmart and got a pack of Halloween paper for $1. I ended up deciding to try mod-podge for the first time.

Here is my pumpkin and the paper I used. Mod-podge, a spongebrush, and dollar store fake flowers were also used.

Halloween Wreaths

Day 20

I have two Halloween wreaths I wanted to share.

Supplies for the first one are:
One feather boa - from the dollar store
One skeleton plastic banner - from dollar store
One wicker wreath - also from the dollar store
One Happy Halloween - from the dollar store

I sprayed the wreath black, wrapped the boa and banner around it and hot glued to keep in place.  I hung the sign in the center and added a  few webs.  Very easy and fun project for the kids. My grand daughter helped me with this one and loved it!

This next wreath consists of snakes and a wreath from the dollar store. This idea comes from Martha Stewart. Go HERE to get directions.
After looking at my wreath I think I need to add a few more snakes. What do you think?
